POLEMA became the first Russian supplier of powders for 3D printing of ship and aircraft engine parts

POLEMA (affiliated to IMH) became the first Russian company that produced and supplied to the customer synthesized materials for 3D printing, which received permission for use in marine and aircraft engine building. POLEMA manufactured and supplied to the customer metal-powder compositions based on cobalt and iron for 3D printing (analogs of PH-1 and MP-1 alloys) of ship and aircraft engine parts. These powders became the first Russian synthesized materials to be included in the restrictive lists of materials for both marine and aircraft engine building.

“At the end of the last year our powders received a positive expert opinion for use in marine gas turbine engines. Previously, our powders were approved for use in the production of aircraft engines. This is an important step in the development of Additive Manufacturing in Russia, ”said Managing Director of POLEMA JSC Alexey Filippov. POLEMA is one of the largest manufacturer of 3D printing powders in Russia. The enterprise operates a vacuum spraying unit for producing powders with a minimum content of oxygen and other impurities. The equipment  also includes sieve and air classification units, which allow increasing the productivity of screening target fractions, and a spheroidization unit, which serves to reduce harmful impurities.
