MIM powders
Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) a is high-technology process for formation of complex products manufactured from finely dispersed mixtures of binders with metal fillers.
This production method of complicated metal components without powder waste and subsequent machining is considered to be low-cost in case of mass production.
The application areas of components manufactured with the help of MIM technologies are varied. These are machine-tool industry (cutting tool elements, gear-wheels); precision engineering, instrument making industry, car manufacturing (door locks, fuel injection systems, safety shields, and door electric motors), electrical instruments (perforator and electric drill mechanisms components), medicine (surgical instruments, implants) and others.
The source raw material for MIM technologies is a mixture of binder and fine metal powder that is called “feedstock”. Metal powder is received via metal sputtering with the particle size from 5 to 20 microns.
